I’ve never done yoga;
i can’t go to a studio!
Oh sweet Mary ‘n’ Joseph, this reasoning is SO hard for me to understand.
YOGA is a PRACTICE!!
That means you have to start somewhere and then continue to “practice”; because without it, you’re not “practicing yoga”.
Chances are very good that when you come to the studio, you’re going to be around people that have more experience than you BUT NO ONES JUDGING YOU or even noticing what your practice looks like! They’re managing their own practice, not worrying about you not knowing what you’re doing.
Drive to the studio, take a deep breath, get out of your car, and walk (or run) into Evolution Yoga. I’ll be there to greet you with a smile and show you around.
I can’t wait to meet you!!!!
Yoga is not a workout!
The hell it isn't! LOL
Yoga is traditionally practiced to exhaust the body and mind, to align and clear space for meditation.
We earn our savasana (corpse pose) at EY!!
Come try it!!
If you can conquer the stigma and make it to the studio I promise you’ll get a “workout”.
i don’t look like a yogi.
Ummm, insert huge eye roll here and fuck social stigmas!!!
Your body has been gracefully carrying you through this life and it’s doing an incredible job!!!!!
There’s no ideal yogi stature and you certainly don’t have to be a contortionist to come to class.
Evolution Hot Yoga is a safe studio for all body types, ethnicities, and experience levels.
You will never be ridiculed for being YOU…and if for some reason there’s and asshole among us, I’ll throat punch ‘em and together we can move forward with our practice.
WE OFFER SUPPORT TO OUR FELLOW YOGIS AND COMMUNITY.
Period!
What do i need to bring?
All you need to bring to class is your honest effort and water.
If you have a mat, bring it, if not, I have one you can borrow. Blocks, feel free
to bring your own or I have some as well.
When practicing in a HOT/WARM class it’s beneficial to bring a towel/yogi toes towel, because we’re going to get all kinds of drippy. LOL
I’m not flexible.
Yoga is NOT about being flexible. One more time for all of you in the back!
YOGA IS NOT ABOUT BEING FLEXIBLE!
You may develop flexibility with consistent practice but you do NOT need to be flexible to do yoga.
Get your ass to class; I’ll show you what I mean.
is yoga a religion?
Millions of yogis step onto their yoga mat every day BUT yoga is NOT and never has been, a religion.
What does it have in common with many religions? Finding peace and personal growth, even if you’re not looking for it; life’s deeper meaning if you will.
However, unlike religion, there is no formal set of rituals or obligations – unless you count the discipline of stepping on your mat and investing time into this practice an obligation.
